 FAQs

  • While I love a bold illustrative design, I’m happy to tattoo all different line wights and styles in black and grey or color. Even flash can be customized to suit a particular style. I love the collaborative process between us to make something special.

I will NEVER tattoo any slurs, hate symbols, or symbols associated with trafficking.

  • You will need to bring a government issued ID for your paperwork, and you must be at least 18 years old. I suggest both eating before the appointment, and bringing some snacks with a sugary drink.

I do my best to help you be as comfortable as possible at your appointment. We start by approving my sketch and design, to make sure you are happy with all of the details. We can choose a size, and discuss placement. Certain sketches will have a color or shading mock up, but I’m always open to customizing color choices to your preferences.

Next we will shave the area, sanitize you skin, and place the stencil. The stencil allows us to try different placements to find the best option for your anatomy.

For the tattoo process, I do my best to provide options for a comfortable sitting or laying position. You will need to maintain the same position for the duration of the tattoo, minimizing movement, and steadily breathing. Breaks are always an option, and I may ask your opinions or preferences on the tattoo as we go.

I will wrap your tattoo and give specific aftercare instructions. I recommend taking the day off to relax and let your body heal, especially for larger tattoos.

  • Tattoo pain is quite subjective, and does vary. But generally, yes it does hurt. My personal description is a cat scratch on a sunburn. The best way to prepare your body is with a good sleep, and a great meal. Bringing additional snacks and a sugary drink can definitely help.

It can come down do the location of the tattoo. Generally, outer arms and legs are the least painful, and a great place to start. We can always discuss the pros and cons of different placements when booking. While I do my best to provide a comfortable sitting position, placements like neck, ribs, or knees can be annoying to sit for. Breaks to stretch can be very helpful.

Getting through the tattoo pain mentally can also vary. Some clients like to put in headphones, and ignore the pain. Others like to talk through the process, and focus on that instead. I’m always happy to hear your gossip, or talk about your favorite movie to help the time fly by.

  • A fresh tattoo is considered an open wound, vulnerable to infection. So it is important to keep it clean during the healing process, with a liquid unscented antibacterial soap, and an unscented simple moisturizer.

  • When booking, I have options for “flash” tattoos or custom designs. Flash means a pre-drawn design. There are iconic flash designs that are meant to repeated and shared, or I have flash designs meant to be tattooed only once. I always have dozens of pages of flash available, and often have discounted designs available.

A custom design is drawn on request. You have an idea in mind, and I draw that for you. Reference pictures are always encouraged so I can best understand your vision and style preferences.

  • Your comfort is my absolute priority. While the area of the tattoo needs to be exposed during the process, there are ways to provide you more coverage for the rest of your body.

Bikinis or swimsuits can be worn. Button ups or hoodies can be worn unbuttoned to expose your front, or backwards to just expose your back. I do try to keep a stock of nipple covers/pasties as well. I’m happy to give specific suggestions for placements, and try to provide options for your comfort.

  • I am lucky to have apprenticed in New York City, tattooing all skin colors, scars, and a variety of cover ups. I’m happy to make tattoos for everyone.

For clients with darker skin, I may suggest certain color palettes to complement undertones or higher contrast in black and grey designs. I have examples of my work on people of color for comparison.

For clients with scars, I am happy to design cover ups to suit your anatomy. However, the scars must be completely healed and settled. I suggest at least 2-3 years. I have experience tattooing surgical scars, and injury scars, as well as my own scar cover up. I do require at least a picture of the area, if not an in person consultation so I can design accordingly

About me

Hi! I’m Angelique, and I’ve been in the tattoo industry since 2020. Originally an apprentice in a busy street shop in Brooklyn.

I’m open to tattooing in a variety of styles, my favorite being bold illustrative neo-traditional, and soft black and grey. I love the collaborative process of custom tattooing, and the challenges creatively. I particularly enjoy subjects like the female form, nature, pop culture, anime, and my versions of traditional tattoo iconography and subjects.

Outside of tattooing, I love painting, watching movies, and exploring new places, especially a museum. My biggest inspirations growing up came from comic books, animated shows, and film. I try to watch a little bit of everything, so I’m always happy to talk about your favorite movies, video games, and reality TV at appointments. I also love animals, so pet pictures are always welcome!

Thanks so much for checking out my work, and I hope to work with you soon!
